Description
Green-billed Toucan (Ramphastos dicolorus).
The first painting in a series on birds of Sao Paulo, actual size watercolor on Fabriano paper in the style of the artist and naturalist John James Audubon.
The city of Sao Paulo is surrounded by the Atlantic Forest and has over 700 species of animals listed, some rare and endangered. In late April, I saw a couple of toucans near my home in a Brazilian pepper tree (Schinus terebinthifolius), used in the design stage. This tree is native to Brazil banned in Florida.
